I've had a lot of students over the years, many of whom have become famous: Michelle Shocked, Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Casey Rivers, Kerri Arista, Jon Wolfe. Several more are on their way to being famous: Kate Hearne, Brin Beaver, Ryan Beaver, Jarret McAlister, Whitney Rodriguez, Karleigh Paige. Many more are playing professionally in local venues. One recent weekend, I counted 27 of my students and former students playing paying gigs. Three of my former students, Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, and Casey Rivers, have been top-ten finalists on the Nashville Star TV show (see this news report from KLTV Tyler)..
